In rotational molding of polyurethane onto roll cores or as a hose, it is possible to achieve particularly thick layers by casting two or more layers on top of each other. This process reaches its limits with very large parts if the underlayer has already chemically reacted too far before it can be overlaid again. It is then necessary to produce the layer in one pass.
After modifying our casting system for hoses and large rolls, we can now increase the throughput of polyurethane to such an extent that layer thicknesses of up to 30 mm can be produced. This process is particularly useful for our customers in the steel and metal industry. However, it is also needed to cast wear layers of large diameter hoses.
