A new FKM plant for the production of pressure hoses and suction hoses was built in Duisburg in 2019 and 2020. It essentially comprises four components:
- Machine bed with mechanical guides and cable chains
- Two stations to hold production mandrels up to 12 m in length
- Achive for the rotational molding of polyurethane
- Achive for impregnating and applying cord fabrice
While the first three plant sections represent technology FKM is familiar with from the production of roller coverings, the impregnation and application of cord fabric was entirely new technical territory for us. It tock about one year of development and construction before this part of the plant was fully integrated into the overall plant. Final acceptance took place on March 11th, 2021.
